The Horse & Jockey Wadsley was first project for the Stancil Brewery Company and has proved a resounding success. Left a free reign and no budget I decided we would need to do something drastic if we were to entice the locals back to what had been an extremely neglected and run down suburban pub.

The first thing I decided on was to integrate the ceiling and wall colour for dramatic and atmospheric effect. Then ungrade the lighting systems to provide some ambience and a degree of theatre, add some vintage furniture and some funky wall treatments including a few choice pieces of urban art, some corporate branding and a fantastic sculptural sand casting pattern – there you have the coolest pub you’re likely to see all done on the smallest budget known to sanity.
